As a rough guide, one well-placed access point comfortably covers around 90–120m² of single-storey space with normal wall construction. Double-storey homes almost always need at least two — one per floor — and thick internal brick walls, borehole pump rooms or large gardens can push that higher. We confirm the exact number during the site walk rather than guessing over the phone.
A mesh system uses dedicated access points, ideally cabled back to your router, that all share one network name and hand your device off automatically. A plug-in extender re-broadcasts the existing signal wirelessly, which usually halves your speed at that point. We install cabled mesh wherever cabling is realistic, and only fall back to wireless extension where running a cable genuinely isn't possible.
